The Showdown

Once the last round of betting is complete, those still left in the hand will turnover their cards, and the player with the best poker hand, using any five-cardcombination from the seven available (five in the middle and two in the hand),will be declared the winner and will collect the chips that were placed in the pot.

Each player can use one, both, or neither of his holecards to make a five-cardpoker hand. In some rare cases, the best hand will be the five community cardson the table, and all players with a live hand will split the pot accordingly. If twoor more players have the same hand, those players split the pot evenly; suitranking (as described above at the end of “How to Play”) or a sixth card willnever be used to break a tie. If there is an odd chip of the smallest denominationafter the pot is split, that chip will be awarded to the player closest to the left ofthe dealer button.

Once the pot is awarded, the dealer button moves one position to the left andthe next two players must post their blinds. The new dealer will shuffle and dealthe cards. In a tournament, play continues until there is one player left with allthe chips. In a cash game, players are allowed to come and go as they please, per the house rules.
